The kite safari in Egypt is much more than an ordinary kitesurfing vacation — it is an expedition to the most beautiful spots on the Red Sea. Instead of visiting the same beach every day, you'll live on a comfortable yacht for a week and reach remote islands, lagoons, and sandbanks that are inaccessible from land. Constant wind, turquoise water and endless standing areas create perfect conditions for beginners, climbers and professionals. While others start on crowded beaches, you enjoy free spots, lots of space and maximum freedom. Sun, warmth and a relaxed atmosphere make the safari an ideal mix of sport, nature and community. Anyone who has ever experienced a kite safari will immediately understand: This is the most intensive way to experience kite surfing.

Our kite camp takes place together with our partner Kitesafari.eu. To participate, you must choose whether you have your own equipment (costs 260 euros) or would like to rent from us. After booking, you will receive two invoices. Kitesafari.eu takes care of the safari & transport while Avid Kiteboarding takes care of the entire kite service on site. The flight is not included.
Your adventure starts in Hurghada with a transfer to the port. After checking in on the motor yacht, you will get to know the crew and group. The cabins are comfortably furnished, common areas invite you to relax and on the sun deck, you can already enjoy your first view of the open sea. After a safety briefing, the boat sets off and heads to the first spots.
Every day follows the wind: breakfast, spot changes, kite sessions, snacks, relaxation and back on the water. Two to four sessions per day are often possible. At noon, the boat anchors directly at a lagoon, so you can take off at any time. After sunset, there is dinner together, stories from the day and relaxing hours under a starry sky. Depending on the weather, you drive to the next spot at night or early in the morning. This combination of movement, nature and comfort makes for a unique safari experience.
The Red Sea is one of the most windproof areas in the world. Thermal effects, stable high-pressure conditions and geographical features ensure constant side to side offshore wind. Especially in spring and autumn, the wind probability is over 80 percent. 18 to 28 knots often blow — ideal for twintip, foil or directional. Even on lighter days, the wind is often enough for relaxed sessions or foiling. This reliability makes Egypt the first choice for anyone who wants to collect as many hours of water as possible. Instead of waiting for wind, you're on the board almost every day.
Egypt impresses with huge, shallow lagoons and buttery-soft water — perfect for learning new tricks. Geisum offers varied bays and long sandbanks. Ashrafi impresses with mirror-like water and miles of standing areas. The colors range from turquoise to deep blue, coral reefs shimmer below the surface, and you're often alone with your group. No hotels, no roads, just sea, sky and wind. Each spot has its own character and provides new impressions. This diversity makes every day exciting and varied.

Tawila means “flat” in Arabic and is a huge sandy island that we reach first — the perfect place for the first kite session of the safari. On the south coast, a narrow sandfinger sticks out and forms a bay with waist-deep, turquoise water. The wind blows offshore from the northwest, which offers mirror-smooth water and ideal freestyle conditions. The standing area is large, and if someone abducts, the dinghy in Lee is waiting to pick us up.

Geisum consists of two islands, one northern and one southern. The Geisum Islands offer an incredible kite playground with numerous bays, peninsulas and reef-protected lagoons with side or offshore winds. One of our favorite sessions in Geisums is a downwinder from north to south, which is between five and ten kilometers long. We sneak in and out of the bays.

Ashrafi is one of the northernmost islands in the archipelago and something very special is waiting for you here: a huge, waist-high lagoon with reefs and sandbanks. Small to medium waves can also be found outside the sandbar. Ashrafi is a safari highlight for everyone, from beginners to advanced kiters.
The kite safaris take place several times a year, usually in spring and autumn, when the conditions are optimal. The starting price starts at 1,195 euros per person, including accommodation and food. Groups or friends can book cabins together. Due to limited places, it is recommended to make a reservation in advance. Appointments and details can be planned transparently so that you can organize your vacation early on.
